Fabulous We stayed at the Dower House as part of a wedding party last week. I can only praise the wonderful hospitality and service we received all weekend from Rosemarie and Neil. Nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were beautiful with luxurious small touches and the cooked breakfasts were superb. We can highly recommend a stay here and would love to return again. Faultless! Stayed a night here for a short getaway on the coast. Everything about our stay was absolutely faultless. The hotel is beautiful; we had a lovely welcome, and nothing was too much trouble for the owners. We stayed in a gorgeous room with beautiful views over the hills. Everything was of the highest standard. Made use of the pool, and there is a lovely little bar downstairs with outdoor deck. We took their advice on making dinner and taxi reservations early and everything went like clockwork. Breakfast was also wonderful and the service was impeccable. Can't wait for our next stay.

Amazing Hotel We recently got married at River Cottage HQ and needed somewhere close by to act as our base of operations. We booked all nine rooms for the principal guests and could not have made a better decision. Rosemarie and Neil made what could have been a difficult time incredibly stress free with excellent communication before arrival and a wonderful welcome when we got there. The hotel is beautifully appointed and the suites are all exquisitely furnished, all unique, but each delightful. The facilities are superb. What sets the Dower House apart from other similar establishments is the distinctly personal approach that the hosts take to each and everyone of their guests. Within moments of meeting them they make they make you feel as if you are old friends or family members stopping by for a visit. I cannot recommend The Dower House highly enough and will definitely return

Amazing, relaxing stay Amazing, friendly welcome by the owner, Rosemarie. This quiet hotel is close to the harbour where there are a number of restaurants - where Rosemarie recommended and booked us a table at “Tom’s”, a fish restaurant which was superb! (I would highly recommend the scallops to start!) We stayed in The Austen Suite which was huge, and very relaxing, with tea and coffee facilities and very comfy bed and separate chairs. The breakfast had 3 courses should you want it and very tasty. Highly recommend and look forward to a return visit!

Another excellent stay We stayed here a few years ago to do a course at River Cottage and were very happy to return for the same reason. This hotel has such a lovely setting, it was a treat to relax in the immaculate garden after a long drive. Very friendly welcome from Neil and Rosemarie. They had contacted us in advance to ask if we needed help booking anywhere for dinner - we said we’d like to book Tom’s in Lyme Regis which they recommend on their website (and which was fabulous). Neil speedily booked dinner for us and a taxi each way, so helpful. The Dower House also gets great discounts for guests at local restaurants so it’s definitely worth booking through them. The hotel and rooms are gorgeous, and it’s clear that a lot of effort goes into making sure guests have every comfort and a great time. The Devon/Dorset breakfast was really good. We’ll definitely return, hopefully for more than one night next time.

One of the Best . We stumbled across this fabulous hotel and booked for one night in February , but after just arriving we managed to book a second nights stay. The hotel is in a fantastic position and close to Lyme Regis with a short drive away . The hotel is kept to a high standard and very clean . The Hosts are very attentive as well as the staff and couldn’t be more helpful even if they tried. We are hoping to make a return trip in the near future but fear they will be fully booked throughout the year . Lovely hotel with charming hosts. We really enjoyed our short stay at the Dower house. The grounds are so beautiful, I only wish I had brought my swimming costume as there was a heated pool ! The rooms are all of a very high standard, lovely comfy bed and soft, fluffy towels in the bathroom……wonderful.Excellent breakfast,with well cooked fresh produce. I would definitely stay here again.

ower House hotel, Lyme Regis Absolute Gem, gorgeous luxurious boutique hotel excellent quality retreat. Neil and Rosemarie gave us the warmest of welcomes. Nothing was too much trouble, thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay. Rooms are very comfortable , finished to a very high standard and they have the cosiest bed .Will definitely be returning for longer stay. Lyme Regis full of the quaintness and charm of English seaside 10minutes away. Highly recommend this hotel, excellent.

Wonderful! My boyfriend & I stayed at Dower House just for one night on a visit to Lyme Regis and it was perfect. Upon arrival Neil greeted us and was so friendly and welcoming, he asked us if we had any reservations for dinner (which we didn’t) and he recommended some local places which was really helpful. ( we went to one of his recommendations, Toms, and it was delicious!) The room was incredibly clean, a great size and had everything we needed. We had a drink in the bar area in the evening & again Neil recommended us a gin and was so friendly and easy to chat to. Breakfast in the morning was delicious, Rosemarie and the others were so lovely and friendly as well. Everyone was chatty and the other guests were also clearly very happy. I can’t fault any part of our stay, it was brilliant. I would thoroughly recommend staying here. The grounds & view also looked stunning, we didn’t have great weather but on a sunny day I can imagine it’s even better.
